Author Biographies:
Dr. Heyam Dalky, is an associate professor in the Department of Community and Mental Health Nursing at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in Irbid, Jordan. She received her bachelor’s degree in Nursing Sciences from JUST in 1997. Her postgraduate education was done in the USA, with a master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from New Mexico State University in 2004, and her doctoral degree in the same from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 2009. Her research focuses on stigma and family caregivers. She has done work on stigma perceptions, instrument translation and cultural modifications, university students and health care professional knowledge, and attitudes toward mental health. Currently, she teaches psychiatric mental health nursing, community health nursing, research in nursing and ethics issues in nursing, at the Faculty of Nursing at JUST.
Yousef M., Ph.D., RN, is a full-time academic faculty in the Health Sciences Division at the Higher College of Technology in the UAE. He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing, his master’s degree from the Jordan University of Science and Technology. and his Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Aljawarneh is the program chair of Nursing at the Higher College of Technology and a member of the UAE National Nursing Reform Board. He is the Lead Faculty for the research and capstone project courses and the Ethical and Legal Issues in Nursing course, along with the teaching critical care nursing courses. His research interests focus on advanced clinical and psychological care for patients with diabetes mellitus. He is also working on multiple research projects concerning contemporary nursing education and simulation pedagogy, bioethics, and psychometrics and measurement theory in healthcare research.
