Effective July 1st, 2026, the Journal of Gambling Issues will operate as a hybrid journal. Once
the article is accepted for publication, authors will have the option to choose how their article is
published:
- Subscription-Based Publishing Model – Published articles are accessible to individuals
and institutions with a subscription to the International Journal of Mental Health and
Addiction, or through the purchase of individual articles. - Open Access: Once an article is accepted for publication, the author(s) or their funding
organization(s) pay an Article Processing Charge (APC). In return, the final published
version of the article is made freely and permanently accessible to all readers worldwide.
Publication fee
Authors who publish open access in Journal of Gambling Issues are required to pay an article
processing charge (APC). The APC price will be determined from the date on which the article is
accepted for publication.
The current APC for Journal of Gambling Issues and Addiction is $2500.00 CAD.
